Company chairman Joc Pečečnik oversees R&D and business development at Interblock.
He began laying the foundation for Interblock in 1989 in Mengeš, Slovenia, building PCs for customers, then supplying POS systems for restaurants and bars. He launched Interblock as we know it today in 1997. Joc saw a potentially valuable niche in the gaming industry: bringing automation to classic casino games like Roulette. Interblock made its international debut in 1997 at ICE Totally Gaming in London with Princess, its first automated multi-player Roulette product, developed by Joc and a team of five in his very own garage. Following the widespread acclaim for Princess, Joc launched Megastar Roulette, Dice and Video, which set new industry standards at G2E.
The high-performing games Queen and Supernova launched in 2000, making Interblock the industry leader in electronic Roulette. One year later, Interblock installed touchscreens in all its products and introduced Stardust, the first Roulette model with a touchscreen. The global gaming market welcomed Interblock’s third generation of models, designed with Swarovski crystals, in 2003. Within five years, Interblock had launched the industry’s first Mechanical Card Generator, Organic Card Blackjack, an innovative device that uses real cards to deliver a genuine gaming experience. The product was nominated the most innovative product at ICE Totally Gaming in 2008. International Gaming & Wagering Business ranked Organic Card Blackjack as one of its twenty most innovative and state-of-the-art products.
In 2015, Interblock commissioned the first-ever ETG player segmentation study, The ETG Player Portrait. This report is the first and only study that defines who these players are and why they are critical to gaming business.
The much-anticipated PULSE ARENA, introduced at G2E 2015, fulfilled Joc’s vision of blending the energy of the latest trends in gaming, interactivity, and entertainment to create an exciting new gambling experience that offers a friendly environment for established players while also drawing new players to the casino floor.
Today, Interblock’s widening range of products and games, including the StarBar bar-top and the Big Six wheel game which were recently added to the product mix, continue to exceed all competitors’.
Interblock founder Joc Pečečnik attributes the company’s success to listening to customers and players to create new products and features that exceed expectations in unique ways.
Joc is the company’s visionary and the reason Interblock maintains its position as the electronic table games thought-leader. He is always driving the company to peak performance: delivering a premium product, new features that enhance the experience, excellent service and cultivating true partnership with our customers.
